♡ Amelia's pov ♡

"So this is your room. It's not much but I think it's good for your size. If there's anything you need, I'll be downstairs." My father mumbled while scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

The father I only just got to know a couple of hours ago existed.

I nodded, barely. I was still so numb after what happened two days ago. I still couldn't fathom how it happened.

I never saw the signs....

My mom was always so happy. So carefree. I never thought that my mom would leave me in this way.

"Thank you," I murmured softly in an awkward tone. I didn't know how to regard my 'father'. Should I say dad, father or call him by his given name Giovanni?

My father nod, looking around the tasteless room. I had an inkling it had been a storage room. And  I had a feeling only a few hours ago was switched into a room. The room was tiny, not suffocating but tiny nonetheless.

But I was tiny too, standing at just five inches with a slim built and too much hips and a tiny waist. I didn't have much boobs to fill a cup but I did have cushion on my bottom. My mom called me tinker because of my short height. I blinked back the tears. I would never hear that nickname again.

"I can go at Green's and buy a bucket of paint or those sticky paint walls thingy if you want?" My dad suggested while wincing at the old chipping paint on the walls.

I forced out a smile. I nearly cringed by how awkward my face felt while doing that. " No. It's fine. I'll just settle in and think about decorating later."

Gosh, this was really awkward. How can I interact with a man I only knew existed hours ago? Even the long drive here was silent, so she knew nothing about him but him sharing her DNA.

My father smiled, more like winced before nodding and then stepped out of the room. When the door closed behind him, I could finally breathe. I let out a gush of air and walked further into the tiny room. The bed looked new, perhaps the only thing new around here.

I set my duffel bag on the light pink covers and groaned.I had been counting down the minutes until I let that heavy thing down. Moving away from the bed, I strut over to the only window in the room. It brought in a lot of light and also showed the beauty of the endless green foliage.

Even with the beautiful greenery beaming at me in all its thickness, I couldn't smile like I would've done if the circumstances were different. How can I ever smile again when my mom was not here to smile with me?

I felt my heart shred into pieces as I opened the window and let the cool air beat my cheeks and whip my hair back. Mom would've loved this place. She was always fascinated with anything foresty. Living here would've been a dream come true for her. If only.....

I hauled in another breath, this time holding it longer in my lungs until it burned. When I let it go, my breath only gets caught in my throat again as I witness a shift in the bushes down below. My fingers grip the edge of the windowsill as I watched the huge shadow shift through the bushes.

Brown fur......

Was that a bear?

My heart somersaulted. A growl emerges out of the creatures throat and I wanted nothing more than to go beneath that small bed and hide, because I swore I just saw a wolf. The animal run back into the darkest of the green, disappearing from my sight and easing my beating heart.

The house was surrounded by trees, in fact the entire town was surrounded by luscious trees, so I should've expected that there were wolves in the forest. Shaking my head I backed away from the window and walked back to the bed. I slowly sat down on the mattress and skimmed my eyes around the tiny room.

This was going to be my home now. I fell back on the bed, my hair spreading beneath me as I stared at the white ceiling. A tear leaked out from my eye and trailed down slowly until disappearing into my brown hair. "I miss you mom."

It hadn't been four days since the passing of my mother, and the pain was still raw. I didn't think it would ease up anytime soon. Suddenly the door burst open again. My father walks in, this time with a plate in his hand. The aroma of what was in the plate reaches my nose. My belly growled a little.

I didn't know I was hungry.

"I made you a grill cheese sandwich. It's burnt-" my dad said, raking his fingers through his hair sheepishly until he froze when his eyes dropped on me. More specifically, my tears.

"You're crying." His voice pitched with a bit of panic.

I was sure that he didn't have a clue about comforting a teenager. I wouldn't hold it against him. I sat up, smiled at him a little. "It's okay. Just remembering mom."

His face twisted with sorrow and he looked away from me and set his gaze on the floor. "Oh."

See, he had no clue about how to comfort a teenager who's mourning.

Poor guy, he had a lot to learn.

"I'd love that grill cheese sandwich." I uttered, trying to save my father from awkwardly looking at the floor. He pass it over to me, a sad gleam in his eyes. "Everything will be okay."

Basic words.

I nod.

Not able to be in that awkward silence any longer, my father looked for a way out.

"Well, I have some work to do..." He pointed at the door, backing away slowly. I refrained from rolling my eyes but nod instead. Before he stepped out of the room, I stopped him.

"Hey Giovanni." My father froze midway, his back was stiff and he didn't turn around to face me. Did he not like that I called him by his given name? I couldn't bring myself to call him dad just yet. We haven't reached that stage yet.

"Yes Melia?" He looked at her over his shoulder this time.

"Are there wolves here? I could've sworn I saw one a while ago." My brows furrowed, trying to recall the huge brown wolf I saw. If it was possible, he stiffened even more. Seconds tick by, silence enveloping us, until he responded.

"There are no wolves around here."

Even though they only just met officially a few hours ago, I could tell by the slight pitch in his voice, that he was lying.

* Next morning *

The buzzing won't stop.

I outstretched my hands, blindly looking for that clock so I can hit that snooze button.

I ended up just flinging the clock to the wall, groaned and curled myself more into my covers.

A second later, my door slams open.

"Did something happen, I heard a crash."

I peeled my eyes open sleepily to see my father standing in his pajamas, a hand up holding a frying pan as he looked around frantically.

That was not the sight I thought I'd see so early in the morning. I didn't know if to laugh, or be concerned that he brought a frying pan as a weapon.

"Clock. Throw. Wall. Crash." I grumbled still half asleep.

The tight worried lines on his forehead visibly disappear and are replaced with a sheepish embarrassed smile.

"Oh." He chuckles sheepishly.

He lifted his hand in his hair. "Thought it was something else. Anyway you should probably get up. Today's your first day and you'd not want to be late."

I nod, reluctantly peeling the covers off my body. If I had the choice, I would sleep in.

It had only been five days since I've been here. Five days seemed long, but they felt short. All I really did was get my room ready, eat, shit and did what normal human beings did on the regular.

Giovanni tried to bring me out, to show me around Willow Creek. But I declined every single time. I wasn't ready yet to see the town I'd be staying in for a while.

Things were too new, too fresh.

I'd wish he would wait to send me to school too, but he thought it would be best to not skip on my education for longer.

"Nice frying pan." I told him the moment my bare feet touch those cold wooden flooring. They creaked under my weight.

I stretched my hands above my head.

Giovanni flushed, and awkwardly swung the frying pan around his finger. "Oh that-

Pang.

He winces when the edge of the frying pan hit him on his forehead.

I throw my hand over my mouth. "Ooph." I giggled.

His eyes narrowed. "Haha, very funny. Get down to eat your breakfast young lady. I'm going to pack you your lunch."

I smiled at his disappearing back softly. At least he was trying.

-

The eggs had a couple of eggshells in them, and I tried to not wince every time my teeth crunched them, but it was getting hard not to.

"How are the eggs?" Giovanni questioned, lifting his head to peer at me.

He was busy throwing a good amount of peanut butter on one slice of bread. It was messy. And I suspected it was my 'lunch'.

"Great. Good." I nod as I pray that those egg shells won't mess with my digestive system. I better not be shutting out huge chunks of eggshells.

Giovanni's huge beam made me happy that I lied to him.

If I had told him that he added way too much salt and suggested that he stay away from eggshells then he'd probably look disheartened.

The man only just found out he had a daughter a couple of days ago.

"I think I'm done. Do you want another PBJ sandwich or is one good enough?"

I looked down at the sandwich and cringe inwardly. I'd have to show him some YouTube cooking videos when I get back.

"I think one is good enough. I don't eat much."

He smile. "Tomorrow I'll cook something better for you."

I winced.

Na uh, not until you watch those cooking videos you won't.

"Or I can get food at the cafeteria? They have one right?" I suggested.

"Those cafeteria foods taste nasty. Wouldn't you rather some home fresh meal?"

"I guess." I grumble.

We talked for a little bit until he told me he'd drop me off.

"I'll pick you up at three." He said before driving off.

I watch his red truck barrel down the street and sighed. I'd rather spend the day with him at the vet than to be at school right now.

I whirled around slowly and stared at the huge building. It looked better than my old school.

For a small town, everything seemed....luxurious.

A light mist of rain poured down.

I probably should get inside before I catch a cold.

I took a step forward with a sigh.

*loud screech*

I whipped around quickly, my eyes wide and my heart lodged in my throat.

A black sports car is inches from my hitting my knees. I slammed my palm down on the hood by instinct as I glared at the occupants inside through the windshield.

The glass was a bit tinted, but I could make out two boys in front. I couldn't quite see them properly and couldn't make out their features.

But by the shape of their broad shoulders I knew they were guys.

"Watch it!" One yelled.

I shook my head and with one final glare, hurried towards the school.

Great. My first day here and I nearly went flying.

___

Raiden's pov

"You missed out on the hot babes last night." Damon chuckled as he swerved into the school compound.

"My dad makes me tag along to his alpha duties. No time for parties now." I grumble.

"My dad's making me attend gamma training next week. So I have a couple of days to get a good feel of the ladies before I'm booked and busy." Damon snorted and playfully punched my shoulder.

"Sucks to be you right now mate."

I rolled my eyes.

"Speaking about babes, how are you and Dayna?"

"We broke up." I answered nonchalantly.

Damon spared me a glance. "You two broke up five times already. Just fucking mate and be done with it."

I wiggled my nose. "Dayna and I mates?"

Damon laughed. "So she's good to dip in her pussy but not to spend a lifetime together?"

I shot him an irritated glare, not bothering to correct him that Dayna and I never slept together despite how we acted. "Man shut the fuck up."

He laughed and brought his attention back to the road. But his eyes go wide and he stepped on the brakes.

"Shit!" He yelled.

A petite blonde girl in a cute red dress and Jean jacket crosses in front of the car. She stops abruptly when she hears the screeching of the tires.

Fuck.

She whirls around, her hair tossing behind her. Damon is breathing roughly and sighs when the car stops just inches from crushing her.

My breath catches in my throat.

Pale blue eyes. They were big and reminded me of the doe's in the meadow. Round face, plump lips that looked so red and juicy.....

She slammed her hands on the hood, pulling me out of the trance I had unknowingly been in.

"Watch it!" Damon yelled.

She shook her head, said nothing and hurried toward the building. A light breeze brushes her and I inhale. A faint scent of vanilla bean. My mouth watered and my wolf stirred.

"Can you believe this chick?" Damon grumbled and started the car again. I can't answer him, I'm too occupied peering at her while she disappear from my sight and into the building.

Who was that girl? And why did she make my wolf stir uneasily?

Amelia's pov

"Sorry, had to get something in the library," A soft male voice came from the doorway.

I turned around in the chair, my eyes falling on a lanky guy standing in the doorway awkwardly.

His hair is dark brown, his eyes dark and protected by huge frames. He's pretty tall too.

"Amelia meet Foster, he'll show you around the school and help you get to your classes." Principal Jester uttered.

I nod, taking the paper from his clutches and rising to my feet. Foster flushed as I approach him.

Foster turns to me, his face flustered. "Hi. Welcome to Creek High. Foster Miller at your service ma'am." He outstretched his hands politely.

I smiled. "Ma'am? I don't think anyone has referred to me as such." I joked and shook his hand firmly. "I'm Amelia White."

We started walking, him asking me to hand him the paper. He scanned it. "So where are you from Amelia? Hard to get new students here. Especially in the middle of the semester." He chuckled and spared me a quick glance.

"I'm from Michigan." I answered.

His brows raised. "And what brings you here in this small town?"

I looked away from him and swallowed. I didn't want to talk about what brought me here. If I do, I'd have to mention my mom. I wasn't ready to talk about her.

Thankfully Foster understood and changed the subject.

" So are you an introvert or extrovert? You know, I need to know if we can hang." He joked, making me giggle.

"Definitely an introvert." I nod, smiling at him. He managed to take my mind off of his previous question.

He raised his hand in a fist and pumps the air. "Yes. Introverts for the win."

I shake my head, biting my lower lip to suppress my smile. I squirmed closer to him when a bunch of rowdy boys ran down the hallway.

"Hey watch it Chad!" A girl screech as she is nearly thrown down.

Foster snorted. "Normal day in Creek High."

"Okay so I'll show you around the school and then bring you to your first class. What do you say? Up for a little tour?" He flashed me a grin. I smiled back in return. "Yeah."

Foster showed me around. I was aware of curious stares all throughout, but I was determined to not make them get to me. If there's one thing I hate, it was attention. And I was massing a lot of it....unfortunately.

But I understood that I was fresh meat....basically a shiny new toy in the school. Who wouldn't want to inspect it, aka me.

"So this is the gym where we usually have to run laps and play dodge ball. I'm actually convinced that my face is a magnet for balls." He snorted as he opened the door.

The sound of a grunt reaches my ears the second those doors parted, followed by another louder and wheezier one. My eyes quickly fall on three boys. Well four to be precise. Two boys held one of the boys arms while one reared his hand back. It was obvious what was going on.

I looked at the boy they held. His mouth bled, his teeth stained with red. The two boys who held him, attention snapped to me, which led for the bigger guy who was doing all the damage to look over his shoulder.

I gripped my bag strap the second he does.

Those green eyes fell into mine. Straight nose, full lips with a piercing just tickles from the corner of his lips. Thick brows with a piercing on one, angular sharp jawline....

God this guy looked like a Greek God. He was the hottest guy I had ever seen.

Too bad.....he seemed like a bully.

I took a step forward, only for Foster to wrap his fingers around the bone of my wrist and shook his head at me.

His eyes held something.

Was that fear?

He gulped. "You better not Amelia. It would be best to leave them to whatever they are doing."

I looked back at the four guys, specifically the one they held, while I try my hardest to not look at the one with striking green eyes.

The boy's lips are curled into a smirk as he spits out the blood on the floor.

"Is that all you got Raiden?" He spits, his smirk growing despite his jaw looking like it was broken.

"But they're-" I started and looked back over at Foster. His eyes grow with more uneasiness and fear. He shook his head furiously.

"Trust me. It's normal here. It would be best to go now." He tugged me.

I bit my bottom lip and reluctantly let him pull me away from the scene. I looked back once before the doors closed behind me.

Those green eyes.....

Why were they causing some tickling feeling in my stomach?

I turn around. "Are you sure we shouldn't call the principal? Something bad can happen. I think we should go back and stop it."

I turn around to head back but Foster stopped me.

"Mirabella, you're new here. There's one thing you should know about Creek High, in fact about the entire town. You mind your business and keep walking. People like us should not meddle in people like them, business. Trust me. Snitching won't help."

There's a warning in his tone that made me uneasy. It was like he knew something I didn't.

Whatever was happening in that gym....must be normal around here like he had mentioned. Perhaps he knew better. Maybe it was best to heed his warning.

We started walking away, my gaze going back every once in a while to see if anyone of those boys stepped out of the gym.

"So who were those guys in here?" I questioned Foster, sweeping my gaze over to him.

He looks over at me and with a sigh, answered. "The blonde one, with red streaks in his hair is Lester. Kinda a goth, kinda weirdly always quiet. The one with brown long hair is Damon. That one is literally a man whore and usually causes trouble around here. The guy they were beating up, his name is Casper. They usually always have an issue with him. And the one who literally screams danger with inky black shaggy hair is Raiden. That one, he's literally the God of the school. Everyone literally worship the ground he walks on. Can you blame them though? Guy is a walking super model."

My nose twitched. "But seems like a huge bully. All three of them."

Foster side eyed me. "Just stay clear of them Amelia. Trust me, you don't want to be on their bad side."

3

Raiden's pov

"Isn't that the same girl from earlier? She looks new." Damon chuckled when the door closed behind the cute blonde girl and Foster.

I strained my ears to hear their conversation.

Amelia

That name suited her.

"If you three are just going to yap about fresh meat, at least release me. I'm getting bored." Casper exhaled annoyed.

I turn my attention back to him and reared my hand back. My fist went flying to his jaw and the satisfying sound of his jawbone breaking reaches my ears.

He grunted, spitting out the blood on the floor. "Well that's more like it, little Alpha." He mocked.

My knuckles slammed on bones and skin relentlessly. I wasn't giving that fucker enough time to heal.

By the time I was done, Casper was on his knees. He spat crimson on my shoes.

"How many?" I questioned in a deadly calm voice.

He raised his eyes to mine, a smirk still on his lips. " I told you she was willing to let me drink from her."

" I don't fucking believe your word for it Casper." I sneered, ramming my fist again on the quickly healing jawbone. It breaks again.

"Ask the human then. She literally begged me to drink from her. I knew my limits little alpha. There are a few lines on the treaty that states you can't kill me if I abide to the rules. I didn't suck her dry and she willingly let me drink from her. Ding ding. I'm an innocent man." Casper chuckled.

I glared down at him. "You will still go into questioning with my father. Just to make sure you did follow the 'rules'."

I nod at Damon and Lester to let him go.

"Fucking blood sucker."  Damon kicked Casper on his ribs, hard.

Casper gasped and raised a finger. "I'll remember to pay you back for that one day Damon."

-

"That girl is really cute." Damon smirk widened, his hands going in his front pockets as his eyes flashed.

"Fresh meat." He chuckle in excitement.

"She's human. We don't frolic with humans." Lester reminded him.

Damon snorted. "What do I care if she's human or not. I just want pussy."

My jaw clenched. I didn't like the way he spoke about her for some odd reason.

" She's off limits." I grumble.

He spares me a surprise look, his brows lifting. "Since when do you claim humans?"

I raised a shoulder in a shrug. "I don't. I just don't want to clean up your mess if you screw up with a human."

Damon groaned, throwing his head back. "You guys are no damn fun. Lester I understand, but you Raiden. Who sucked the fun out of your butthole?"

I rolled my eyes. "Since I'm getting ready to take on the alpha title. I don't want you screwing it up for me."

Damon's eyes narrowed. "Jeez you already talk like a damn alpha." He shivered. "I'm losing the fun guy."

I let out an annoyed exhale as we stepped into the history class. "We need to talk about Casper's recklessness. That damn vampire keeps messing with the humans here."

"Think he'll target the new girl?" Lester wondered out loud.

I'm about to answer him when the scent of vanilla bean flutters to my nose. I inhaled deeply, the scent mouthwatering.

I scan over every head, until my eyes fall in on hers. She must've sensed my gaze, because her head snaps up.

Those eyes.

"Hey man, where you going?" Damon voiced.

I didn't know my feet were taking me to her until I sat on the chair beside her.

Her scent was stronger here, and fucking addicting.

'Call dibs on the human?' Damon chuckled through the mind link.

I stare into her eyes deeply, unable to look away for some reason. She's the first to break eye contact, and squirms away from me.

Her actions didn't sit right with me.

_____

Amelia's pov

I'm playing with the zipper on my bag in boredom when the door opens. Seconds later, a stare burned on my head.

Unable to shrug the feeling off, I lift my head.

Only for my eyes to connect with striking green swirls.

Those guys.

I stiffen. They're in this class.

The other two had yet to notice me, but the one in the middle. The one who seem to gather my attention.

His eyes were refusing to look away. I can't say I was different, I couldn't seem to look  away too. And those crazy little flutters in my stomach were not helping.

How can such a handsome guy like that, be such a huge bully?

I try to ignore the feeling and tired my best to look away. But it seemed as though I was in a trance and hadn't even notice he was just beside me until he sat down on the chair just a couple inches away from me.

I shivered slightly, feeling the penetration of his stare more now that he was so close.

And his cologne.....

What was that?

His cologne smelled good this close.

Amelia what the hell are you doing!? Look away from him!

After an inwardly fight with my mind and body, I finally was able to break eye contact with the handsome boy.

I fisted my hands on my bag and looked around. Everyone were already seated, there were no empty chairs left.

Dammit.

I couldn't escape.

And the teacher had yet to arrive to get my mind off the guy's piercing stare.

I pressed my lips together, squirming away from him.

"Amelia," His voice came as a shock to me. Deep and husky. I clenched my hands into fists, squirming more in my seat.

God, he even had a magnetic voice.

I snapped my eyes to him, my brows furrowing. "How do you know my name?"

I try to ignore the gleam of his piercing on his lip.

He nodded his head and my desk. "Your book."

I looked down at my notebook, sure enough I had my name on there.

I flushed. "Can you look away?" I asked him as I tore my eyes away from his.

"People normally look at the person they're trying to introduce themselves to. Or is that not common where you are from?" I can hear the slight amusement in his tone, which added my frustration.

When he doesn't get a response from me, he decided to introduce himself. "I'm Raiden."

His name made a shiver run down my spine and I clenched my jaw. I need to get away from this guy.

Luckily the teacher saved me by finally showing up.

The only problem was that, the entire class, Raiden had not once removed his gaze on me.

Amelia's pov

The second the bell rang I packed my bag and throw the strap over my shoulder. I was out of that class in less than a minute.

"Amelia,"

There goes his smooth husky voice behind me.

I stiffen, looking around for Foster as I try to ignore the brooding guy behind me. He didn't look like someone I'd catch their attention. So it was weird that he was trying to talk to me.

Especially after I saw what he had done to that guy earlier.

Where the hell was Foster?

He said he'd meet me out here to show me to my next class.

"For being so short, you sure do walk fast." Raiden chuckled beside me.

I gulped. He caught up.

I gave him a slight glare from the corner of my eye, as I scooted away from him. " Can you like, leave me alone?"

He raised a thick brow. "Why for?"

I'm about to answer him when Foster calls me over. "Hey Amelia, over here!" He lifted his hand up, gesturing for me to come over.

I looked at Raiden whose brows knot in a frown and then grumble under my breath. "Just stay away from me."

With that, I literally skipped to Foster who looked between Raiden and I. As soon as I was beside him, he interlocks our arms and guides me to my next class.

He didn't say a word yet.

Which was strange.

I'd thought he'd ask me questions about Raiden.

I side eyed him curiously. He was so quiet.

Until he peeked behind us, let out a sigh and then broke the silence. "Amelia, what was Raiden talking to you about?"

Why did he have a pitch of fear in his tone?

Was Raiden that much of a bully?

"He tried to introduce himself. Told him to stay away from me." I answered after a ticking second.

Foster nod. "I think you did good. Those guys and their friends are people to stay away from."

My brows furrowed. I saw Raiden punching a guy earlier, but I wondered why Foster seem so tense when talking about him.

Does he bully Foster too?

Curiosity won, and I found myself asking Foster. "Does he hit you too?"

Foster glanced at me quickly from the corner of his eye and replied. "No. He doesn't hit people like us. But it would still be best to stay away from him and his friends."

I gnawed on my lips. There are those words again. People like us. What did he mean by that?

I'm about to question him further until he cuts me off. "We're here. Have fun in your history class, I'll meet you outside to bring you to your next." He smiled at me and bid me goodbye before I could ask him anything.

I sighed and stepped into the class. I was one of the very few who were already here. And......that guy Raiden was feeding his fists to.

He sat at the back, slouched back in a cocky way as two pretty girls sat on his desk. His arms are wrapped around both.

They giggled at something he said and his smirk widened.

But that's not what keeps my eyes glued to his. It's the fact that his face, especially his jaw, didn't look like it suffered any fist to it. He looked unscathed.

I quickly tear my eyes away when his eyes snapped up to mine. I flushed.

He caught me looking.

I quickly made my way over to an empty desk and chair. Away from the guy.

I could feel his stare on me when I plop down on the chair. I didn't like his stare and shivered.

"Hey new girl."

I stiffened.

It was obvious he was trying to get my attention.

I squirmed and slowly turn my head to look at him. He beamed, teeth flashing.

I flinched.

I could've sworn I saw pointy fangs. But they were gone so quickly that I was convinced I had imagined them.

"Name?"

Did I want to give this guy my name?

For all I know he could also be one of Raiden's friends and they were just playing rough. Guys were like that in my old school.

I let out a faint exhale.

It's not like he'd not know my name eventually.

"Amelia."

His grin broadened. "Pretty name for a pretty human girl." He stressed on the word human which made me grow confused.

I turned back around, getting creeped out with the way he was basically eye rapping me.

Shaking my head, I pulled out my stuff and got ready for class.

A few minutes later and the class was piling up. There was only one empty chair left. That chair so happened to be beside me.

The teacher strolled in. A man in his mid-thirties perhaps. He looked young.

He set his bag on the desk, scanning around the entire class. His eyes fall on me and they shone in interest.

"You're new here, right?"

I nod, biting my lip and squirming when all heads turn to me.

"Welcome to Creek High. Where weird shit happens." He grinned.

The entire class burst into laughter. I cracked a smile too. It was kind of refreshing to have an easy-going teacher here. The last one seemed a bit stiff and cold.

"I'm Mr. Scott, your history teacher. And no, I'm not going to talk about Romeo and Juliet. Leave that for the drama class. I don't have enough tissues for everyone here."

Everyone laughed again, until suddenly the classroom went silent.

The door opens, hard boots hitting the tiles. I looked up from the boots, freezing when my eyes met green.

God. Him again!? Is he in every single class I have?

"Raiden," Mr. Scott sighed with a shake of his head. "May I know why you are a tad bit late?"

Raiden grinned, his white teeth flashing. The sight of it, weirdly made my stomach flip.

"Got lost." He shrugged.

Mr Scott rolled his eyes and shooed him away. "Just take a damn seat you overgrown teenager. "

Raiden smirked and started walking......over here.

I bent my head, praying he'd not acknowledge me. However I knew that the only seat left was the one just beside me.

It was unlikely for us to not interact.

I was just thinking of ways I could avoid talking to him, or looking his way when his smooth masculine voice grumble above me.

"You're in my seat."

5

♡ Amelia's pov ♡

I frowned.

I was in his seat?

I looked at the desk closely, it was new and unmarked.

I looked up and my eyes connected with those green swirls that made my stomach knot.

I ignored the feeling and voiced. "Your seat?"

The tip of Raiden's lips curled up into a barely there smirk. "Yes, Amelia,"

The way he said my name. I clenched my thighs together.

What the hell was that feeling?

"You're in my seat." He finished with a broader grin.

My frown deepened.

Was he so much of a jerk to actually make me change seats!?

I scowled. "There's an empty chair here." I pointed at the vacant chair and desk beside me.

"But I don't want to sit there. I want my seat." He stressed, eyes flashing in amusement.

I looked behind him at Mr. Scott, expecting him to tell Raiden to find another chair, one preferably vacant.

But Mr. Scott was actually avoiding staring at us.

I looked around the entire room. Everyone seemed to look at me with pity.

Were they all afraid of Raiden?

Was he some kind of prince I didn't know about?

"Amelia." Raiden pulls me out of my thoughts.

I brought my eyes back to his and regretted it. A storm of butterflies raged havoc in my tummy.

I clenched my fists.

His thick brow raised. "My seat."

I gritted my teeth, annoyed at him and the entire class. "Fine." I spit, took my stuff and got up.

I sat on the vacant chair, glaring at him as he chuckled and settled himself where I had been comfortably.

"Great now that everyone finally found their seats. We can start the lesson." Mr. Scott clapped his hands.

I glared at him too. He was practically useless as a teacher. Was he not supposed to put an end to Raiden practically bullying me out of my seat?

Instead he looked away as though he was afraid of confronting Raiden himself.

I shook my head, gave one last glare to Raiden who looked at me amused and focused on the lesson.

-

After a couple more classes, school had finally come to an end.

I threw my jacket back on.

"You're coming with me by the way." Foster suddenly uttered as he threw on a hoodie. It was raining cats and dogs outside. It was so damn cold here and I won't lie, I kind of like it.

I furrowed my brows and looked at him confused. "Coming where exactly?"

He rolled his eyes and closed his locker. So did I.

"Where every boss ass bitch teenager is going."

I raised both brows. Boss ass bitch teenager?

"What are you on about?" I giggled. In these couple of hours. I've grown accustomed to Foster's colorful personality. He let's out a loud sigh and threads his arm around mine. He tugs me away.

"We're going to the best diner in this town. Lushies. They serve the best burgers and fries. And I'm dying for a diet coke."

"Is this diner far?"

His node twitched. "Not really. About an eight minute drive the least? Come on, come with me." He playfully nudged me. We stepped out of school.

I gnawed on my lips in thought.

I grow worried. Giovanni was supposed to pick me up.

"Okay, let me check with my dad first."

Foster nods.

I typed a quick text to Giovanni, hoping he'd get it quickly and respond.

He does in just a few seconds.

Giovanni: Sure Melia, it's great that you're trying to mingle with others. Make lots of friends and grab me a burger. Also don't forget to call me if you need a ride back home."

I texted him thank you and slide the phone in my bag.

"What did he say?" Foster asked with large excited eyes.

I smiled. "He said yes. I guess we're going to Lushies?"

He fist pumps the air. "Yes. Now let's get going, I'm starving and I need my damn diet coke to focus."

I nod and we ran under the rain. Foster led me to a grey four-wheel truck and unlocked it quickly.

"We look like wet rats." He snorted the second we sat in the truck.

We laughed and Foster pulled put of the parking lot. Eight minutes later we pulled up to a fancy looking diner. The rain had now gone down to a drizzle.

There were a bunch of teens outside, laughing, running in the rain.....

They didn't seem to care that they might catch a cold out here. "Oh my God, I'm starving." Foster moaned as he held the door open to the diner for me to pass through. The little bell on top of the door rang when he pried it open.

"Thank you." I smiled and stepped into the cozy place.

Inside here was warm, and the smell of food was mouthwatering. Foster nudged me towards an empty booth. We sat down and a young girl name Pickett came to take our orders. She was Foster's friend but hadn't been to school today.

Apparently she needed a good bit of money today so she took the entire day to work.

Her eyes were a strange light blueish mixed with silver color. Her dark skin shinning. Her black curly hair was pretty too. Overall, she was a  magnificent beauty.

Suddenly the little bell rang, grabbing our attention. Pickett groaned under her breath. "Great. Fantastic. Just what I needed today."

I could see why she was unpleased and even I stiffened upon their arrival. Raiden, Lester and Damon. They walked in with a powerful aura  all three seeming so intimidating that they turned the warm welcoming air into a frizzy uneasy air.

But they were not alone.

No.

Four girls were accompanying them. One, in particular, clung to Raiden like a slug, giggling and looking up at him like he was the love of her life.

I believe I saw her in one of my classes but I wasn't too sure. I did try to avoid staring at anyone seeing as they looked like they'd rather me not to.

I studied her.

She was tall, taller than me that's for sure. She was inches from reaching Raiden's height, and Raiden was a very tall fella. Her dark hair cascaded down her back in loose waves, and when she turned around to scan the room, I noticed her eyes were a pretty warm light honey color.

She was stunning. But something about her clinging to Raiden didn't sit right with me.

Foster laughed at Pickett.

"You're funny. " He snorted.

Suddenly those warm honey eyes connected with mine and she seemed to have tugged everyone's attention to me too.

I squirmed.

A red haired girl spoke something into her ear. Something that made her eyes flash and for a smirk to rear on her red ruby lips.

She utters something and with a tug, pulls Raiden and the rest along with her. My stomach knotted when I realized they were heading this way.

Raiden's pov

" You've been giving that new girl attention all day today. Are you sure you don't want to bone that human?" Damon snorted, side-eyeing me.

Lester pushes forward, his forearms on the seats. "The small blonde girl?" He questioned with furrowed brows.

I rolled my eyes. "Jesus fucking Christ Damon, of course not. I was just teasing the damn girl."

Damon snorted. "Teasing her eh? You were eye fucking her in the class, during lunch and literally was looking for the girl before we left. Bruh that little human caught your attention."

I let out a groan  running my hand down my face. "I don't care for humans, especially to fuck them."

Damon laughed. "You probably shouldn't, they couldn't handle us any way."

Lester snorted. "You toy with human girls on a regular Damon."

Damon shrugged. "Yeah but at least they are bigger than that tiny girl. One thrust and she breaks. She won't be able to take on a wolf's cock."

I grit my teeth. Somehow I didn't like the way he spoke about her. But I kept my mouth shut.

He pulled into lushies parking lot, killed the engine and looked behind us. He snorted. "I bet you a thousand bucks Dayna followed us here."

I looked in the rearview mirror. Sure enough Dayna's pink beetle pulls up behind us.

I groaned inwardly.

Getting out of the car, I closed the door.

"Raiden baby!" She squealed, rushing over to me with her friends behind her.

She wraps her arms around my midriff. "I miss you Raiden. Let's forget about what you said last night."

Before I thought Dayna had the most beautiful hair I had ever seen. It was pitch black, thick, long and shiny. But now.....blonde has become my favorite.

The guys snorted behind me.

"Dayna, we're broken up." I sighed, trying to peel her spaghetti arms off me.

She pouted. "Raiden. I know you miss me. Come on, you can't be still mad about-

"Dayna." I growled.

Damon snorted. "You're wasting your time this time around Dayna. Raiden has a new fascination. A little blonde one to be more precise."

I turn to send him a sharp glare as Lester punched him in the gut.

Dayna's eyes narrowed up with annoyance. "Blonde fascination? Who is she?"

Thanks fucking a lot Damon.

"Must be that blonde new human girl." Teresa, her friend uttered while popping her gum obnoxiously.

"There's no blonde girl that caught my attention." I snapped in annoyance and turned around to walk toward the diner.

"Wait up baby!" Dayna yelled, seconds later her arm wrap around mine and pushes closer to me.

"I know you can't stay mad at me forever Raiden." She giggled.

I sighed, not having the time to argue right now. I was hungry and thirsty. We stepped into the diner, the bell chiming above us.

Dayna giggles, looking up at me while I scan around.

Vanilla bean.

I could detect that scent here. I breathed it in.

My eyes fell on her, squirming in the far corner. For some odd reason my wolf jumped around in my head.

"Let's go say hello over there." Dayna uttered, snapping me out of my wandering stare on Amelia.

Damon clapped my back with his palm. "Yeah man, let's go say hello to your new fascination."

I glared at him heartedly. That fucker knew how Dayna got when someone else catches my attention. Not that Amelia did......

I let Dayna bring me toward Amelia and Foster, not like I had a choice in the matter. One thing about Dayna, her grip is pretty strong. I could get out of it, but I wasn't one to be physically harsh with girls.

"Hey Pickett, Foster and...." Dayna drawled as she pushes me to sit in the booth. Amelia stiffened when I sat down. Dayna sits on my lap.

I let her, so I could give the impression that I was not fascinated with the human girl. I needed Damon off my back. He'd not let me live it down if he found out that I was indeed fascinated with Amelia.

Who wouldn't be?

Amelia was beautiful.

"Amelia." She said softly, looking at Dayna and me.

It was strange to hear her tone so soft.

"So you're the new girl." Dayna drawled with a smile.

Amelia looked between us, her eyes searching. Whatever she found, made her nod before answering Dayna.

"I suppose I am."

Dayna grinned like a Cheshire cat, circling her arm around my neck. Before I used to like the feel of her on my lap. Not anymore. "We don't get new people around here much. What made you come to our old small town?" Dayna questioned.

I tried to pay attention to her words, but my eyes kept drifting to Amelia's lips. For a second, I wondered what they would taste like.

I lift my eyes to her face, in awe of how the dimly lit booth made her eyes stand out even more.

Amelia lifted a shoulder into a shrug. "Personal reasons."

Foster and Pickett eyed Dayna suspiciously and I could just tell Foster was itching to drag Amelia away from us.

Dayna hummed. "You're awfully pretty." She drawled, twirling her hair around her finger.

'You're literally drooling dude.' Damon snorted through the link.

I lift my finger to my lips to check and sent Damon a glare when he snorted out loud. Embarrassingly I did catch a bit of drool on my thumb when I swiped it.

'And you say you don't want the human? Yeah right.' He snorted through the link, making me grit my teeth. I hated when he was right.

Amelia guarded eyes shifted to surprise slightly. Curling her hair behind her ear, she respond faintly. "Thanks."

I'd do anything to run my hands through those silky strands or wrap them around my fist while I push into her from behind. I grow stiff at the thought and Dayna wiggled her bum, perhaps thinking I had grown hard because of her. She couldn't be far from truth. I was painfully hard for the little human sitting across me.

Amelia's pov

I didn't like this girl. The way she was staring at me made me feel uncomfortable. And the way she sat on him too...

" Pretty girls like you should fit in right away," Dayna's lips spread wider. " I am sure you made quite a few friends already," her eyes twinkle. " We like fresh meat around here. Don't we, Raiden?"

Raiden who had not once left his eyes off me, finally tore them away to look at Dayna. He looked confused. " What?"

Dayna rolled her eyes and returned her attention to me, a smirk on her lips. " Don't mind him, he always has his mind in the gutter when I am on his lap, if you know what I mean." She winked suggestively and I wanted to barf.

I needed to get away from here. It seems Foster saw how uncomfortable I grew because he came right to my rescue by clearing his throat. " I think your dad must be waiting for you at home Amelia. Let's go, I'll drop you off. "

I nod, flashing him a grateful smile and getting up to leave, however Dayna's sickly sweet voice turned icy as it cut through the air. " I think I am not done talking."
